Silver Alginate Catheter Dressing

Description:

A slit, circular shaped sterile dressing consisting of two layers:

· An absorbent polyurethane foam layer which provides for the absorption of wound exudate.

· An ionic silver alginate matrix which provides for broad antimicrobial effectiveness and helps prevent contamination from external bacteria.

Features:

· Release of active ionic silver for broad spectrum antimicrobial effectiveness for up to seven days.

· Effective against methillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus [MRSA], Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas and E-Coli.

· Absorbs moisture around catheter insertion site.

· Creates a zone of inhibition surrounding the dressing further inhibiting bacterial growth.

Indications:

For the management of wounds caused by the use of Vascular and non vascular percutaneous medical devices such as:

· Peripheral IV catheters

· Access Port catheters

· Chest Tubes

· Central Venous catheters

· Dialyses catheters

· Gastrostomy feeding tubes

· Arterial catheters

· Epidural Catheters

· External fixator pins

· 19mm diameter with 2mm opening

· 25 mm diameter with 4 mm opening

· 37.5 mm diameter with 7 mm opening
